Technical Symposium

The CAGS Technical Symposium will be held in Beijing in the week of 16-20th of April 2012. The two day symposium will be an opportunity to review the outcomes and achievements of the CAGS project over its two and a half year duration, discuss international cooperation and progress on CCS in China and globally, and consider opportunities and needs for future cooperation.

Technical Workshop 1: Geological Storage of CO₂

The first CAGS technical workshop was held in Canberra, Australia, in January 2010. It was focused on assessment of geological storage sites at country, regional, basin and site levels. Over 60 participants from China, Australia, the USA and UK attended the workshop. [read more]

Technical Workshop 2: Improving Capability of China for CO₂ Aquifer Storage

The second technical workshop was held in China from 27-29 October 2010. The workshop brought together participants to share knowledge about the latest progress and trends in the field of CO₂ geological storage. [read more]

Technical Workshop 3: CO₂ Storage and Enhanced Oil Recovery

The third technical workshop was held in Changchun, China from 11-14 July 2011. Presentations from this workshop.

CCS School 1 on geological storage of CO₂

The CAGS School on geological storage of CO₂ was aimed at Tertiary and Graduate students and early career professionals working in or interested in geological storage of CO₂. The school was held in China from 30 October - 3 November 2010 following Workshop Two. The school covered various aspects of geological storage and aimed to improve the understanding amongst participants of latest progress in CCS. The CAGS School 2 on geological storage of CO₂ is aimed at Graduate students and early career professionals working in or interested in geological storage of CO₂. The school was held in Sanya, China from 21-25 August 2011. [read more]
