Workshop Three, Geological Storage and EOR will be held in Changchun, China in July 2011. Participation in the Workshop is by invitation. We will make the content available on our website. Please contact us at info@cagsinfo.net if you are interested in participating.

CCS School 2 on Geological Storage of CO2 will be held in Guangzhou, China from 21-25 August 2011. Please apply if you are interested in participating.

Chinese PhD students visit Geoscience Australia

On 15th July, Geoscience Australia had the pleasure of hosting a visit by two students, Yin Tian from China University of Petroleum and Wang Shu from the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Both students had just participated in the 2010 CO2CRC CCS School in Brisbane.

GA staff took the students on a tour of the building and facilities including the laboratories and data store, after which both students presented their work on CO2 geological storage to the Greenhouse Gas Storage team at Geoscience Australia.

Both students expressed their appreciation to GA and the CAGS project for providing this opportunity. This visit was in line with the CAGS project’s aim to build and enhance relationships and networks between Chinese and Australian researchers and organisations.
